Wayde Raymond Faust
Wayde Raymond Faust displayed an aptitude for drawing at a young age. He thrived while studying in the art program of his high school, which led to being accepted into a coveted advanced art program of weekend classes at the Department of Art and Design at St. Johns University, NY.
Awarded a full scholarship to study painting/photography & filmmaking at The School of Visual Arts at Syracuse University, he studied under the respected teachers, photographer Michael Recht, painter Felicia Recht, and experimental filmmaker Owen Shapiro.
The above lead Wayde to a career as a film and video editor. He honed these skills primarily on music driven artistic montages in music videos, as well as high end brands; which included Ralph Lauren, Porsche, Mattel, Lexus, Microsoft, DirecTV, Toyota, Infiniti and many others.
Wayde’s artistic expression evolved throughout the challenges of his video editing career underscored by his work winning over seventy Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze industry awards. With recent custom residential painting commissions for clients in Santa Monica, CA; Central Coast of California, Southampton, New York; Newport Beach, CA; and Boca Grande, Florida, he has come full circle, and is now focused on painting and photography.
“I am constantly drawn to how objects interact with each other within a frame. How lines and colors move you around the space and how the image vibrates with your sensibilities. I look for the connections between elements with the goal of constantly evolving my creative expression. Photography has always been a way for me to capture images that intrigue me, whether for their own sake or to be the basis for a painting. Creating visual art since early childhood has always been a passion of mine. My ability to maintain a laser fine focus with almost endless patience, hours, even days go by while I’m working in what seems to me as only an instant. My intent is to create a lasting positive emotional experience for the viewer.”
